About Me

Hey, I’m Hayley! I’m the face behind Harmonised Homes, a professional home organising business based in East Lothian.

I’ve always loved organising, even if my childhood bedroom didn’t exactly give that impression! I was definitely guilty of having a floordrobe (sorry Mum and Dad!), but I’ve always loved the process of sorting, organising and, of course, a good label maker. Give me an IKEA trip, a few boxes and a free weekend and I’m a very happy gal!

My route into professional organising wasn’t quite as straightforward as you might think. I’ve worked in IT since I was 17, starting out with an apprenticeship and going on to work across different areas of the industry (please don’t ask me to fix your laptop, just turn it off and on again). It’s a career I’ve really enjoyed and one that has taught me so much about problem solving, attention to detail and finding practical solutions. That being said, I always felt like there was something else I wanted to explore alongside it. When I discovered that professional home organising was something I could actually train and become accredited in, it was one of those lightbulb moments where everything just clicked. I completed my CPD Accredited Professional Home Organiser training in 2024 with Dilly Carter from BBC’s Sort Your Life Out, and Harmonised Homes was born!

Outside of organising, I’m either planning my wedding (AGHHH!), out for a run, discovering a new coffee spot or spending time with our Cavapoo, Bear, who is far more human than dog and very much the light of my life.

What Does Being a Home Organiser Mean to Me?

An organised home isn’t about having a perfectly tidy, Instagram-worthy house. Life happens. We work, we go out, we make memories, and sometimes the organising has to take a back seat, and that’s absolutely fine.  I’ll always say go out and make the memories, worry about the mess later. The difference is, having systems in place makes coming home and resetting much easier.

I know first-hand how much our surroundings can affect how we feel. When I moved out of my parents’ home at 20, having my own space made me realise just how much my environment could influence my mood, productivity and headspace. There’s a certain calm that comes from walking into an organised space. It quietens that background noise that an unorganised room can create.

That’s what I want for my clients too.

I want you to be able to breathe, relax and feel proud of the space you’ve worked so hard to have. I want you to spend your weekends doing the things you actually enjoy, rather than constantly feeling like you should be sorting, tidying and organising. If I can give you some of that time back, then I’ve done my job.

Every home and every person is different, so I never believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I want to understand how you live, what you use, what matters to you and what currently isn’t working. I might have an idea of where everything should go, but if it doesn’t work for your life, it doesn’t work. Simple as that.

Yes, I love a beautiful, aesthetic space as much as the next person. If you want that Pinterest-worthy or Instagram-ready home, I’m absolutely here for it! But functionality will always come first. Your home needs to work for you, not just look good.

Letting someone into your home and going through your belongings is a big deal, and I never take that trust lightly. It’s an honour to be welcomed into someone’s space, and my biggest goal is always for you to feel completely at ease with me. So, whether you have one room that’s driving you mad or your whole home feels like it needs a reset, I’m here to help you find the harmony in your home and hopefully give you a little more time to enjoy the life happening around it.
